Portraits by the Bay was founded in 1999. However, I began my journey into photography at age 17. My primary interests consisted of people and places and how through travel the photos took on a journalistic approach. What really intrigued me most was how these people related to their environment. Friends and family who viewed my photos let it be known that I had found my niche.
With that, I graduated with a Fine Arts Degree from The Art Institute of Philadelphia. I've worked as a commercial, industrial and fashion photographer, been a Senior Art Director, and have had my own ad agency. My works have been published in magazines such as Seventeen, Sports Illustrated, Source, Vibe and XXL.
It was in college, however, that I was introduced to the world of wedding photography. One of my professors, who was also a wedding photographer, noticed a sense of style and personality about my work that would be perfect for this type of industry. I was taken under wing and professionally trained on the job. I immediately knew this was something I would love to do.
After a decade working in the corporate world and moving my family back to my native shore area, I began Portraits by the Bay knowing this was where I was going to stay. My familiarity with the area has specialized my business in coastal weddings and I believe it truly shows in my work. We have a non-traditional, journalistic approach to reveal the story of your most important day all with an unobtrusive presence.
We believe in keeping your photography and video as casual and light-hearted as possible.
We truly love what we do!
